Attorney Jessica Liebau:

Elder Law, Estate Planning, and Special Needs Attorney


Jessica is a partner at Wessels & Liebau, LLC. She focuses her practice primarily in the areas of elder law, special needs planning, estate planning, guardianship, guardian-ad-litem (GAL), estate and trust administration, and fiduciary litigation. She is a trained elder law mediator as well as an experienced litigator in the areas of guardianship, adult-at-risk restraining orders, elder abuse cases, and trusts and probate matters. She also takes court appointments through the Wisconsin State Public Defender office for guardianship and mental health commitment cases.

Jessica joined Wessels Law Office (now Wessels & Liebau) in 2016. She is a graduate of Marquette University Law School (cum laude) and of St. Norbert College (summa cum laude). Jessica is the chair-elect of the Elder Law and Special Needs Section of the State Bar of Wisconsin, and is the Editor of the Elder Law and Special Needs Journal of Wisconsin. Jessica is a past president of the Wisconsin chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (WI-NAELA). She is also a member of the local bar associations for Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Washington, and Sheboygan counties.

Volunteer work is a fundamental part of practicing law at Wessels & Liebau, LLC. Jessica volunteers her time with numerous local organizations. In particular, she is co-chair of the Board of Directors of Balance, Inc. and is on the board of the Mequon Nature Preserve. She is a member of the Life Navigators, Inc. Trust Committee, and a past president of the Mequon-Thiensville Chamber of Commerce.

Outside of work, Jessica enjoys gardening and outdoor activities with her spouse, daughter, and son.
